26.4 UECP OR NOT-UECP PROGRAMMING MODE

The Extended / not UECP mode carries a full-set of ‘customized’ features / controls

wich represent a valuable ‘benefit’ of the Barracuda. In the following pages one

describes the ‘extended’ mode, as it contains the UECP-compliant mode, too.

26.5 CHARACTER TABLES (FOR RT, PS, PTYN SERVICES)

The Barracuda allows the user to select (with ref to CENELEC

Annex E.1,E.2,E.3) the character table used in all ‘textual’

services, such as PS, RT, PTYN..

It also allows to add control characters, according to EBU and

ISO normative.

Available character tables are the following:

ISO 8859-1 (Latin 1)

ISO 8859-2 (Latin 2)

ISO 8859-5 (Cyrillic)

ISO 8859-7 (Greek)

ISO 8859-9 (Turkish)

ISO 8859-10 (Nordic Languages)

PAY ATTENTION TO THE CHARACTER SET IN USE. SOME LOW-PRICED RECEIVERS COULD NOT

DISPLAY IN A CORRECT WAY ALL CHARACTER SETS.
