The function can be configured in Firewall > Forwarding Settings > DNS Blacklist and works for A records
as well as for AAAA records. Only DNS traffic on port 53 is monitored.
Rollback Mechanism for the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
With Barracuda NG Firewall firmware version 5.2.4, the system now return to a working IPS ruleset in
case a faulty update broke it. If a broken ruleset is detected, the system will automatically reboot and
re-apply the previous ruleset.
New Default Policy für the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS)
With Barracuda NG Firewall 5.2.4, the default IPS Policy has been changed. See the screenshot below
for the new default settings.
Custom URL Filter Error Pages
As of Barracuda NG Firewall firmware version 5.2.4, the URL Filter is capable of providing username
and IP address of the user who requested a blocked page in the returned redirection URL.
The block page’s URL is extended in this format: &user=[u]&peerip=[p]
wherein [u] represents the username, if applicable, and [p] represents the IP address.
